Economic Security Project is a multi-year $26 million project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Project assists businesses in difficult environments grow and expand into new markets and works with Serbia`s youth to empower them for the future careers in business

Novi Sad, May 15: Nine food processing companies from Sandzak (Giljeva, Sjenicanka, Sandzak Komerc, Fass, Milkop, Turkovic-Lav, Polimka, Ljin, and Zornic) received their Halal certificates from the Serbian Halal Certification Agency, the official certifying body for Serbia.
Certificates were awarded by Susan Fritz, USAID Mission Director in Serbia and mufti Mustafa Jusufspahic, Halal Agency Director, at a special ceremony held May 15 during the 79th International Agricultural Trade Fair.
Diplomatic and economic representatives of Kuwait, Indonesia, Malaysia, Azerbaijan embassies and representatives of Islamic Community of Serbia were among the guest at the ceremony.

Vranje, May 7: Five Vranje-based youth-owned manufacturing enterprises each will receive $2,000 grants to invest in equipment and materials or marketing opportunities like trade fair attendance to ensure the firms’ sustained growth and expansion.
The funds are available as part of the Economic Security Program’s YEAP activities that creates a cost-sharing partnership between USAID and participating communities.

Belgrade, April 30: The Economic Security Project supported four of its light manufacturing companies’ exhibition at the 2012 Belgrade Construction Fair, the largest of its kind in South East Europe.
The companies, Tobler, Celiku, Termomont and Dekor M&V, have been active participants in ES program business support activities. They served as role models at the fair for six of the program’s youth-owned businesses (Nimeti, Lindi, Unikat, Becki, Vizijal and Mobi Alu-Max) recently included in business support training and technical support services.
