Belgrade, June 28: The Youth Office for the city of Belgrade met with Junior Achievement Serbia (JAS) this week to learn how to implement the Junior Achievement program “BizTown” in Belgrade schools.
“BizTown” combines basic business education with simulation exercises to give participants hands-on experience in a broad range of business management challenges. With the effort to add the entrepreneurship simulation to its portfolio of activities, the Youth Office in Belgrade introduces a long-term approach to resolving the youth unemployment problem, a core mission of all Youth Offices.
Since FY08, PPES has worked with 54 Youth Offices to deliver entrepreneurship training to more than 1,000 young adults to help them start or strengthen a new business for more immediate results. JA and the Belgrade Youth Office hope to begin the business simulation in the city’s elementary and high schools by April 2001; it will be the first use of the BizTown activity in Serbia.
