Prijepolje to Implement Two Youth Entrepreneurship Strenghtening Projects

PPES supports Youth Employment Action Plan (YEAP) projects in Prijepolje. Two projects to help address youth unemployment in the municipality of Prijepolje received $10,000 from a joint fund created by PPES and the Municipality.

Formal agreements were signed November 18 to launch: (1) a series of TV shows on youth entrepreneurship opportunities; and (2) basic business training to local aspiring young entrepreneurs.

Both projects seek to improve the competitiveness of local young people to prepare them for employment and to start and operate successful businesses. Twelve municipalities developed YEAPs during 2009 / 2010 to reduce local youth unemployment. In 2010 / 2011, USAID has selected 11 new municipalities to participate in the YEAP activity.

Internship and Career Counceling: USAID Internships activity creates “real-world” experience. Supporting the development of career counseling and guidance offices helps create a better-prepared workforce.

These USAID activities actively shape a more dynamic and informed workforce to improve the economic stability and security in Serbia.
