European student companies competition held in Belgrade: The best European entrepreneurs in the Delta City Shopping Mall

Belgrade, 24 april 2010: Delta City, Belgrade`s larges shopping mall, hosted more than 80 students from 8 European countries. Students participated in the Junior Achievement “Innovation Fair”, the largest festival of youth entrepreneurship in Europe. The event was an opportunity for student companies to show off their innovative ideas, sell their products and services in a public setting, and share their entrepreneurial spirit. Delta City gave student companies a great opportunity to attract greater audiences and sell more products while competing for 5 awards in business excellence.
Students from Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, and two companies from Turkey won the awards for most innovative product, the best exhibition space, the best marketing approach, the best sales team as well as the best company at the Fair.
"Innovation Fair" was officially opened by Michael T. Harvey, USAID Mission Director and Aleksandra Vidanovic, Director of the organization Junior Achievement Serbia. "Innovation Fair" was organized by "Junior Achievement", the British Council and Microsoft, with support from USAID Serbia.
Programs of the "Junior Achievement" enable young people to develop significant entrepreneurial skills and are currently being carried out in primary and secondary schools across the continent, including Serbia. These programs are designed to give young people the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to become successful business leaders in their communities and to ultimately increase their opportunities for successful careers.
For student companies, displaying their products at the Student Company Trade Fair it is one of the most exciting experiences of the program. It is also the peak of their selling season.
During the “Innovation Camp”, held international final of "Skills at Work" youth entrepreneurship competition, in which teams of students from Southeast Europe within only 24 hours, resolved, as proposed business plan, practical problems in the field of entrepreneurship that Microsoft representatives in Serbia dealt them. The winning team consists of 4 girls: two from Serbia, one Macedonian and one Lithuanian.
