USAID Provided Marketing and Branding Aid Turns South Serbian Small- and Medium Sized Companies in to Regional Business Leaders

Bujanovac, April 29, 2010: United States Agency for International Development Economic Security Program (USAID PPES) will present results of its latest economic aid program designed to provide support for development of new branding and marketing materials to a group of 25 small- and medium sized companies from South Serbia at the South Serbian Businesses’ Marketing and Branding Promotion Event organized at 1.30 p.m. on April 29, 2010, at Hotel Rozafa in Bujanovac.

During the event US Ambassador in Serbia, Mary Warlick will address the audience and award the certificates for business excellence to the most successful companies included in the USAID PPES program. Event will also be an opportunity for some of the USAID supported companies to showcase how they succeeded in increasing sales by changing their visual, branding and marketing materials.

Ambassador Warlick will also visit two Bujanovac-based companies participating in USAID Economic Security program –Tobler Skele and Fontana Dairy.

To address the problems that hinder the development of many companies in South Serbia, PPES Program has come up with a package of three different training courses: management, sales and a training course on branding and marketing. Types of technical assistance related to realization of the marketing plan include development of branding strategy, improvement of marketing material and especially development of Internet sites.

The Program also provides the companies with training, coaching and mentoring in key areas for a successful business - Sales, Finance, Operations, and Human Resource Management.

The goal is to make the companies more appealing in order to attract new customers and increase sales revenues. As the USAID Economic Security Program also supports the companies to participate in trade fairs throughout Europe, the new visual identities and materials deliver a sophisticated message that easily communicate the highest quality and superior value of Serbian products to potential buyers. Combination of these two PPES programs – marketing and branding support and trade fair support – should add on to already impressive sales figures made by the PPES supported companies during trade fairs, held throughout 2009 and 2010, amounting, at the end of April 2010, to close to $ 1 million.
