What is Economic Security Project?

Economic Security Project is a multi-year $26 million project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Project assists businesses in difficult environments grow and expand into new markets and works with Serbia`s youth to empower them for the future careers in business

Strengthening Economies of South Serbia and Sandzak

Since 2008, Trade Fairs helped USAID-supported companies generate $11 million in new sales

• The Sandzak textile association (ASSTEX) gained permanent presence in Poland and Russia and is negotiating with the Government of Serbia to establish permanent presence in Albania.  

• Half of the USAID supported companies entered new markets.

• 21 companies expect to achieve ISO standards through USAID support.

• 57 percent is the overall sales growth of USAID-supported companies.

 

 

Making Youth more Competitive

      • 6950 youth received assistance through the ES Program

 

Youth Offices

• 1550 participants trained in Entrepreneurship

• 23 Youth Offices have developed and adopted Youth Entrepreneurship Action Plans

 

Internships

• 310 students placed as interns.

• 121 companies, public institutions and non-profit organizations offered internships.

 

Career Guidance and Counseling (CGC)

• 15 tourism high schools throughout Serbia established career guidance teams

• Two Novi Pazar universities supported in their career guidance initiatives to better link students with local businesses.
