USAID’s Economic Security program is organizing a training workshop on branding and marketing for company representatives from southwestern Serbia working in the light manufacturing sector, specifically in the construction, apparel and footwear industry. The two-day training will be organized for up to 12 managers/business owners from the region, and will be held in Novi Pazar, on Tuesday and Wednesday, 17-18 March 2009.
The aim of the training is to support these local businesses to effectively prepare for international fairs. The training will focus on providing company representatives with guidance on developing a better branded product. The training will help participants increase their knowledge on branding and marketing concepts so that they will be able to more effectively position their products on local and international markets, ultimately serving to improve product competitiveness and increase overall company sales.
USAID’s Economic Security program works to promote economic growth in underdeveloped municipalities in southern and southwestern Serbia by working with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) helping them to become more competitive in their current market and expand into new markets. The business development activities supported by the program include: supporting trade show attendance and study tour participation; training in business skills, marketing, product design, and sales; assisting with international quality standards acquisition; and, creating market linkages at trade shows.
