In January, USAID’s Economic Security program launched a set of workshops in management, sales, finance and marketing for managers of companies from South Serbia working in two targeted sectors: dairy and light manufacturing.
The first set of courses was organized on January 26 and 27, in Vranje, for 12 business owners from Bujanovac, Presevo, Vranje and Surdilica, and on February 5 and 6, also in Vranje, for 13 representatives of light manufacturing businesses.
This two-day training course focused on management, with a special emphasis on how to adjust to changes in the market (such as changing import / export requirements or changing customer demands). The training also sought to provide the firms, most of which are founder-managed, to deal with the organizational challenges imposed by business growth. Training offered in the next period will deal with issues of marketing and preparing for trade show attendance.
