About USAID Agrobusiness Project
The USAID Agribusiness Project is five year program financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). It does so by improving competitiveness of Serbian producers n local, regional and international markets. The project is being implemented in agricultural sectors with greatest market perspective: in the berry fruit sector, dairy sector, medicinal herbs, spices and mushrooms sector, meat sector, fruit and vegetable sector. USAID Agrobusiness project started September 2007 and is planned to last till 2011. The project is executed by DAI in cooperation with International Relief and Development (IRD) and Booz Allen Hamilton.
About USAID Economic Security Program
The Serbia Economic Security program is a five-year program supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Program will last until 2011 and its total value is $20 million. The Program aims to foster a stable and prosperous Serbia. It does so by helping businesses in difficult environments grow and provide employment opportunities for the country’s most vulnerable people. The Economic Security program is being implemented in seven municipalities and focuses on areas of central, southwestern and southern Serbia where high unemployment and a lack of adequate and accessible resources have made adapting to the process of transition to a market economy more difficult for many people. Helping companies identify potential new customers and new markets is a key aspect of Economic Security market integration approach to local economic development.
