From 19 to 22 September, Novi Pazar-based packaging producer Gracijani d.o.o. will exhibit its products at the 6th Packtech Expo Balkan 2007 – International Fair of Packaging Materials, Machinery and Appliances to be held at Belgrade Fair. A winner of a recently completed business plan competition “Realize your Dream” conducted under the auspices of the USAID Serbia Contingency Planning and Economic Security Program, Gracijani is supported in expanding its marketing endeavors. One aspect is promotion of its products at this high-level international fair, unique in South East Europe.

A winner of a recently completed business plan competition “Realize your Dream” conducted under the auspices of the USAID Serbia Contingency Planning and Economic Security Program, Gracijani is supported in expanding its marketing endeavors. One aspect is promotion of its products at this high-level international fair, unique in South East Europe.
Economic Security program component fosters a stable and prosperous Serbia. To that end, the program helps businesses in difficult environments grow and provide employment opportunities for the country’s most vulnerable people. Economic Security program is being implemented in seven municipalities in central, south western and southern Serbia where unemployment is high and people lack adequate and accessible resources to adapt in the process of transition process to a market economy.
In addition to underwriting part of the cost of Gracijana’s exhibit at Packtech, the program grant will help the company to purchase new equipment, including an automated line for production of natron bags, machines for production of a range of bags for food industry as well as production of napkins. Gracijani is one of five Novi Pazar companies whose business plans are being supported by the program. Helping companies identify potential new customers and new markets is a key aspect of Economic Security market integration approach to local economic development. Gracijani’s presentation at an international fair serves as a timely opportunity to present its offer, learn about competitors and establish business contacts, thus creating a basis to improve its products and marketing and further its business’ growth.
Gracijani’s owners have a long and enviable experience in entrepreneurship. The company was started as a school and office furniture producer and expanded its production to include machines to treat and finish denim. In 2005 it completed an automated production line for a variety of paper packaging bags.
